Quilled Eggs

I collect eggs and have a few dozen made from marble, stone, glass, wood, etc.  I recently saw some quilled eggs made from strips of paper and decided to try my hand at it.   It's coming out fairly well so far.  Below is a picture of the complete bottom half of the egg.  I intend to finsh it today and will post a photo of the complete egg later.

It's being made with tiny strips of paper that are 6" long by 1/8" wide being rolled into spirals.   There's a tool that helps roll the paper but I find it easier to roll the paper around a toothpick.

Here's the finished egg!
